Faulkner's and Neill's performed for 3 straight hours to help raise money. Faulkner's was dancing and doing gymnastics and Neill's Taekwondo was performing all styles of taekwondo.
Each year, USA Gymnastics celebrates National Gymnastics Day to raise exposure of our sport. Since 2001, gymnastics clubs across the country have raised more than $1.4 million for Children's Miracle Network. This year, on Sept. 17, 2011, gym clubs across the country will take part in a nationwide handstand world-record attempt to celebrate National Gymnastics Day in a show of strength for the sport and to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network. The monies raised are distributed to each gym club's local Children's Miracle Network hospital, which helps children around the country who are fighting illness.
As part of the National Gymnastics Day celebration Faulkner's & Neill's will organize all interested students, families and friends to perform a handstand contest at 1pm to help break the record for the most simultaneous handstands. It also provides a fun way to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. It will be important that all handstand participants have "feet up" at the same time across the country. 2011 National Gymnastics Day and the handstand world record attempt overview 2011 is the year of the handstand, and USA Gymnastics hopes gymnastics clubs across the country will join forces to break the world record for most handstands done at one time! This is a fun and easy way to build interest in gymnastics in your community, generate excitement with your gymnasts, and be a part of breaking a record!
