TAEKWONDO

Faulkner's Dance & Gymnastics is more than just a state-of-the-art dance and gymnastics facility, but also one of the largest dance, martial arts and gymnastics facilities in the Triangle! Our program is committed to excellence in a safe and fun environment.

Faulkner's Taekwondo is directed by Master Erik Neill and Neill's Taekwondo and Fitness in Chapel Hill, NC. Faulkner's Taekwondo teaches a "progressive Taekwondo" curriculum. This combines the most functional and economical aspects of several traditional martial arts into one system in an attempt to give students a well-rounded training. Thus, our curriculum supplements traditional Taekwondo strikes, kicks and blocks with Hapkido standing grab defense, SokoBudo and Kali weapons defense and offence, and Jujitsu ground work. This unique training experience all takes place in a safe, friendly, clean environment.

In addition to our exceptional and progressive approach to combining martial arts styles, our staff works hard to create a progressive learning environment. Our experienced and friendly instructors strive to make every class fun yet challenging. Lesson plans are carefully arranged with a balance of both traditional and modern training techniques in mind to ensure the best and most effective learning experience for all students.

Taekwondo (sometimes spelled Tae Kwon Do or Taekwon-do) is a popular martial art originating in Korea. Loosely translated, the name means "the way of kicking and punching". Thus, traditional Taekwondo focuses its defense and attacks on blocking, kicking, and striking with the hands and arms. Faulkner's Taekwondo teaches a progressive Taekwondo curriculum, which blends these traditional aspects of Taekwondo with other martial arts.

Faulkner's Taekwondo strives to create a positive atmosphere for all students, designed to foster individual development. Two of the most common reasons people become interested in martial arts are to become more fit and/or to learn self defense. If you are looking for fitness, martial arts at our school will increase your muscular development, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility. If you are interested in self defense, our progressive blend of martial arts has been designed to be practical and efficient, preparing you for any self defense situation. In short: with Faulkner's Taekwondo, you will achieve both these goals and much more. Martial arts is great for stress relief, self-discipline and self-confidence; and these benefits do not stop at the school door.

Faulkner's Taekwondo is taught every Tuesday Night and Thursday Night beginning at 6pm.

Faulkner's Taekwondo has classes for everyone:
